Longstanding Concerns About Neville Roy Singham Network Validated as DOJ Investigates

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Center to Advance Security in America (CASA) welcomes the federal grand jury investigation into Neville Roy Singham, the China-based tech tycoon and major funder of left-wing activist groups including Code Pink and The People’s Forum. Singham, who is married to Code Pink co-founder Jodie Evans, is under criminal investigation in the Southern District of New York for potential violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) and tax laws.

CASA has long been at the forefront of exposing Singham’s funding networks through formal IRS complaints challenging the tax-exempt status of People’s Forum and Code Pink. The grand jury probe validates CASA’s longstanding calls for rigorous oversight of nonprofits that may be advancing Chinese Communist Party-aligned agendas or engaging in prohibited political activities.

CASA’s Prior Actions:

  • People’s Forum IRS Complaint: Detailed the group’s receipt of millions from Singham, its role in coordinating disruptive protests (pro-Hamas, anti-ICE, and others involving arrests and infrastructure blockades), sponsorship of the Venceremos Brigade’s Cuba trips, and other potential FARA violations.
  • Code Pink IRS Complaint: Raised similar concerns about tax-exempt abuse and foreign influence ties linked to Singham.

“CASA has long been warning about organizations funded by Neville Roy Singham that promote foreign adversarial interests while enjoying U.S. tax-exempt benefits. Our IRS complaints regarding the People’s Forum and Code Pink highlighted exactly the types of activities now drawing DOJ scrutiny under foreign agent and tax laws. This news underscores the urgent need for full accountability,” CASA Director James Fitzpatrick said.

“CASA urges the IRS to expedite reviews of Singham-linked entities’ tax-exempt status and calls on Congress and federal agencies to continue aggressive enforcement against foreign influence operations exploiting America’s nonprofit sector.”
