The Center to Advance Security in America (CASA) will file a supplemental bar complaint against former special counsel Jack Smith after previously lodging one in October.
The conservative nonprofit originally asked the New York Supreme Court to open an investigation into Smith’s potential violation of state rules. Now, CASA plans to file a supplemental complaint with the New York Appellate Division for alleged violations of professional conduct rules.
“As new information has come to light regarding Jack Smith’s flagrant violation of a federal district court order in United States v. Trump, CASA has filed a supplemental bar complaint and is hopeful for an immediate investigation by the New York Bar,” CASA Director James Fitzpatrick said. “The district court wrote that Smith’s refusal to follow this order was ‘brazen’ and without legal authority. We agree. Smith’s nakedly political attempt to prosecute President Trump and his allies knew no bounds. He needs to be investigated for this type of egregious violation.”
